Murray isn’t the smartest guy you’ll meet, but he has more heart than anyone you will ever know. The classic Brawn vs Brain argument is depicted very well between this pink hippo and his best buddy Bentley. The brainy turtle focuses Murray’s immense strength in the right direction, and whenever Bentley’s plans go awry, Murray’s brute force manages to keep the group out of trouble until the job is done.

How Murray ended up in the orphanage is a mystery as he talks even less about his history than Bentley. However, when Sly arrived, he was welcomed with open arms by this energetic hippo. At first he was rather timid and clumsy, but after watching some luchadors in action, Murray decided to turn his self esteem issues into motivation, which lead to his inner anger that he outwardly projects when in a fight. To feed that massive strength, Murray eats more than his fair share and is always hungry.

He also seems to have a knack for driving, as he is the team’s getaway driver and originally held a job delivering pizzas before he was fired for dropping too many. It’s speculated his father was a racer and died in a serious accident.
